Define sales stages by evidence, not optimism

Use a small set of clear stages so the team knows what needs to happen next.

Use stages the whole team understands

A workable sequence might be enquiry received, requirements confirmed, quotation sent, decision pending and order confirmed. Define what evidence allows a record to move forward. Keep won, lost and cancelled outcomes separate from open enquiries.

Make the next action visible

Every open opportunity needs a responsible person and a next action date. Do not move it to “likely” because it has been open for a long time. A confirmed decision process or a written order is stronger evidence than a vague positive conversation.

Track time in a stage

Review enquiries with no recent action and quotations waiting beyond the normal decision time. Ask whether information is missing, the customer’s timing changed or the opportunity should be closed. Removing stale entries makes the working list more useful.

Keep forecasts separate from booked orders

An estimate of future sales depends on assumptions. An accepted order still has delivery, invoicing and collection steps. Do not count the same amount in a forecast and an actual total without making the distinction clear.

Match the process to the tools available

Dastyar supports customer follow-ups and the order-to-delivery workflow. Use those records to support a consistent sales routine. The stages in this guide are a management method; they are not a claim that the current app includes an automated probability-weighted CRM pipeline.
